As it has become necessary to action a small fee increase, we would like to take his opportunity to offer our valued patients some information and explanation.
The Medicare rebate is your payment from the Government towards the cost of medical services. Ideally your Government rebate would equal the cost of delivering the service, but unfortunately this is not the case.
The Medicare rebate has never kept up with the cost of living and the increase in Practice running costs, in fact for many years the rebate amount has been frozen.
The fee for your appointment not only covers the Doctor's income, but also has to account for all other costs associated with running a large medical practice. These costs include: wages of nurses, receptionists and administrators, equipment and medical supplies, cleaning, rent and electricity, computers and IT support, staff training, Accreditation costs and insurance.
