What does zero tolerance mean exactly
9 Aug 2023 4:24 PMTandem HealthWhat does zero tolerance mean exactly in relation to threatening, abusive, inappropriate and or negative behaviours towards facility staff and consulting doctors?
The behaviours listed below are examples of some of the behaviours and interactions that will be deemed unacceptable:
- Persistent or unrealistic demands that cause ongoing stress to staff. Staff and consulting doctors always do their best to meet your requests and explanations will be offered when they are unable to do so.
- Using offensive language, swearing at practice staff either at the front desk, over the telephone or via email.
- Verbal abuse towards staff in any form including verbally insulting the staff, yelling or raising your voice in a hostile manner. Not getting what you want is not a reason to verbally abuse staff who are reasonably carrying out their duties.
- Actual or threatened physical violence towards any member of staff, consulting doctors or other patients.
- Any form of racial abuse or sexual harassment implied or otherwise.
- Attempting to obtain prescriptions or certificates fraudulently.
- Causing damage or stealing from the facility, staff or patients.
- Repeatedly harassing practice staff for any reason either at the front desk, over the telephone or via email.
- Continuously failing to meet the cost of your consultation despite agreeing to the fee for care prior to receiving care.
Please treat staff and doctors consulting from these rooms with the same respect and courtesy you expect and receive from us. We are here to assist, but zero tolerance means you may be asked to transfer your care if the behaviours above occur.
